Hollister’s Multicultural Office Potluck
Hollister’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee hosted its first-ever Multicultural Potluck at our new office space in Downtown Boston. Unlike many of the other monthly DE&I events, which typically take the form of a virtual seminar and conversation, the potluck provided a unique opportunity for Hollister employees to share their ancestral cultures and family traditions, and come together in a way that has been difficult to accomplish in recent years.
The event was a booming success and resulted in an impressive spread and turnout, despite the ever-present allure of working from home that can challenge in-person engagement for hybrid teams. Hollister employees who were able to visit the office that day were handsomely rewarded with a wide range of savory and sweet items including Somalian sambusas, Austrian jam cookies, Latin American pupusas, traditional English scones, sweet Lokshen Kugel, homemade Portuguese Jag, signature family dishes, and more. The office was abuzz all afternoon, full of excitement and curiosity (especially once some tantalizing aromas wafted to the rest of the office)!
The potluck beautifully illustrated the diversity of our team and community, and served as a delicious reminder of the value that active, ongoing participation in DE&I has for us—and why it is one of the Hollister Group’s core tenets. We hope the next food-related DE&I Committee event is just as much of a success, and we anticipate plenty of future Hollister employees in attendance with big appetites and open minds!
