A Letter from Kip: 38 Years, and Still Growing

As I reflect on 38 years in business, I’m feeling incredibly humbled and grateful to be part of the wonderful Boston community I’m so fortunate to call home. It’s hard to imagine that at 26, I opened Hollister’s doors at 262 Washington Street with a business plan written on a paper napkin and needed a man to co-sign a loan just to get started. How far we’ve come.

Through three recessions, a global pandemic, and now a time of extraordinary change, one thing has remained constant: the human side of business matters most. Connection over separation. Relationships over transactions.

What I love most about our values – open communication, passion, integrity, and community – is that they have stood the test of time. Through every high and low, they remain at the heart of who we are and how we show up for one another.

Over the past 38 years, thousands of people have come through Hollister’s doors, and I’m deeply mindful that each person has contributed to the fabric of who we are today. To every person who has been part of our journey, thank you.

And to our clients who have believed in us and trusted us as advisors to your organizations, I am profoundly grateful. Your trust and partnership have allowed us to grow, evolve, and continue doing work that matters.

To my husband, who supported me with this first “baby” of ours before our four humans came along – you have been my true partner through it all. You bring so much light to my life, and my gratitude for you runs deep.

After 38 years, people sometimes ask me, “How can you still be this excited about what’s ahead?”

My answer is simple: Because I’m still growing.

And as long as I’m growing, learning, connecting, and finding new ways to make an impact, I’ll continue to be excited about what comes next.
