Stu joined Hollister in October 2022. Prior to that, he spent 22+ years at WinterWyman/Planet Professional. His focus is now and has always been on supporting the contract and direct hire needs of our clients in the areas of Accounting & Finance as well as HR & Administration.
Stu resonates with Hollister’s belief that growth does not have to come at the expense of culture. In fact, the more we grow the richer our culture will be and the more we get to share it with our community.
Originally from Northern Virginia, Stu moved to the Boston area in October of 1999 so his kids could be closer to their grandparents in Maine. Now that his children are older, he can’t imagine living anywhere else. His wife instilled the love of travel in him and experiencing amazing people in so many incredible places is one of his great joys in life.
Stu has two pieces of advice to share as a result of his 20+ years in this business. As a candidate - be your true authentic self. You want to be as polished and professional as possible, but you want to make sure your potential employer knows who you really are. If they don’t accept you for who you are, then you were never meant to be there.
As an employer, make hiring the most important thing you do, don’t let it be a transaction. The future of your company is sitting in the waiting room, virtual or real. Don’t keep them waiting, and don’t let them feel they are a distraction or interruption of your day. There are other great companies out there, make sure they can feel that yours is the best.
